Stories

  • A Baby! · Frontline Combat · 8 pages

Young Ok-Dong is born at the end of World War II and is a small child when the Korean War begins and kills his entire family.

  • Geronimo! · Frontline Combat · 7 pages

Geronimo and his band of renegades make forays into Mexico, where the Mexicans fight against the intrusion, but not too successfully. And the Americans along the Arizona border wonder just what can stop the Apache outlaws. Finally, Geronimo tires of running and surrenders, and months later, the once feared warrior is reduced to selling his picture and autograph at the World's Fair in St. Louis.

  • Bayonet Drill! · 1 pages

Corporal Tubridy, of Her Majesty's Army in India, sat patiently watching new recruits engaging in bayonet drills after previously trying to teach them the proper use of the Martini rifle at the firing range the day before. Taking no more, he jumped to his feet, grabbed a bayoneted rifle and properly showed the raw recruits the Haymaker's Lift, which could lift an enemy soldier right off his feet. Then he began to relate one of his stories about his many campaigns in the service, including his story of drumming recall of his company during an attack.

  • Napoleon! · Frontline Combat · 6 pages

Using superior tactics, French General Napoleon Bonaparte manages to defeat the Russian and Austrian forces in the Battle of Austerlitz, a victory that will change history for the next seven years.

  • Anzio! · Frontline Combat · 7 pages

A German Captain and his soldiers, under fire, is complaining to HQ, when is told that the Americans and British are invading Anzio, a place the Germans had withdrawn from two days earlier. He is assured, however, that fresh troops are on their way there and that they will stop the Allied forces dead in their tracks. What he soon discovers is that Allied forces have also landed in his position at Cisterna, the last thing he'll ever know.
