Terms of Service

Effective October 10, 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and RVK Holdings (“we”, “us”), a company incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia, which operates Argus at arguscollects.com. By using Argus you accept them; if you do not, please do not use it.

What Argus is

Argus is a search and alert service for comic collectors. It finds comics listed for sale by marketplaces, auction houses and dealers, matches them to catalog records, keeps watch for the books on your Want List, and shows auction dates. Argus does not sell anything, is not a party to any sale, and does not value or appraise comics. Purchases happen on the seller’s own site under the seller’s terms.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a contract where you live.
• Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us promptly about unauthorized use.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account, including through AI assistants or tokens you connect.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• scrape, bulk-download or resell Argus data, or access Argus by automated means other than the documented connector and tokens, within their limits;
• interfere with, overload or probe the service, or get around limits or security;
• use Argus to harass anyone, send spam, or break the law or the terms of the sites Argus links to;
• misrepresent who you are, including in the Add your site form.

Listings, links and other sites

Listings, pictures, auction dates and seller names come from third parties. We work to keep them accurate and current, but listings change, sell or end without notice, and matches can be wrong. Always check the listing on the seller’s site before you buy or bid. We are not responsible for third-party sites, sellers, items or transactions.

Alerts

Alerts and reminders are a convenience. Delivery can be delayed or missed (for example when a source changes, an email is filtered, or a service is down). Do not rely on Argus as your only notice of an auction ending.

AI assistants

You can connect assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude. They are operated by others under their own terms. Answers an assistant writes are its own; Argus supplies cited data. Changes an assistant proposes to your Argus data take effect only after you confirm them, and you can revoke an assistant at any time.

Sites listed on Argus

Shops, dealers and auction houses that ask to be listed through Add your site confirm they may share their public listings or schedules. Argus stores titles, grades, links and pictures, never prices, and stops indexing a site promptly on its owner’s request.

Content and licenses

Argus, its software and design belong to RVK Holdings. Comic catalog facts are from the Grand Comics Database and Metron under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license, and that license governs your reuse of them. Listing content belongs to its owners. You may use Argus for your own collecting and business; any other use needs our permission.

Changes and ending use

We may change, suspend or stop any part of Argus, and may update these terms with notice on this page (and by email for material changes). You may stop using Argus and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service at risk.

Disclaimers

Argus is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, RVK Holdings is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, purchases, bids or data, arising from your use of Argus or any third-party listing or site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US$50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable losses from claims caused by your misuse of Argus or your breach of these terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Any claim that is not resolved must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of the place you live.

General

If a provision of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest remain in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them with the business. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement about Argus.
