ARGUS

Settings

Use Argus inside the AI assistant you already have: cited comic facts, live listing search and your Want List.

How it works

Argus connects to your assistant through MCP, the open standard ChatGPT, Claude and many other assistants use for connectors. Your assistant does the conversation; Argus supplies catalog facts with citations, searches live listings, and reads your Want List and matches.

No download is needed to connect. Any change to your Want List or matches waits for your approval in Your connections below.

Claude

  1. In Claude on the web or desktop, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector, name it Argus, and paste the connector URL.
  3. Select Connect, sign in to Argus, review the permissions and choose Allow connection.
  4. In a chat, turn on Argus from the tools menu and ask about a comic.

Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http argus https://arguscollects.com/mcp, then run /mcp to sign in. Connectors added on the web also appear in Claude’s mobile apps.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create. Name it Argus, paste the connector URL and choose OAuth authentication.
  3. Sign in to Argus when asked, review the permissions and choose Allow connection.
  4. In a new chat, add Argus from the + menu and ask about a comic.

Custom connectors depend on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings, and menu names can change between ChatGPT updates.

Other assistants

Any assistant or app that supports remote MCP servers can use Argus, including Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and other desktop clients.

  1. Add a remote (HTTP) MCP server and paste the connector URL.
  2. If the app signs in through your browser, approve the connection on Argus.
  3. If it asks for a bearer token instead, create one under Manual token below with only the permissions you want, and paste it into the app.

Argus plugin

The Argus plugin for ChatGPT and Claude adds ready-made skills on top of the connector: checking your Want List, scanning new listings for your books and explaining key issues. It is in development; download links and install steps will appear here when it is released. The connector above already gives your assistant everything the plugin will use.

Try asking

  • “Which issue is the first appearance of Venom, and who drew it?”
  • “Find live listings for Amazing Spider-Man #300 graded 9.0 or better.”
  • “What’s new in my Argus matches today?”
  • “Add Hulk #181, CGC 8.0 or better, to my Want List.”

Catalog facts come from the Grand Comics Database and Metron under CC BY-SA 4.0, and answers cite them. Revoke an assistant at any time under Your connections.
