Agent Venom escapes from Spider-Man. Carlie (and her vital evidence) are in the hands of the Goblin King, who now knows that Otto transferred his mind into Spider-Man's body, but not that Spider-Man was Peter Parker. Mayor Jameson wants Liz Allan and her company to produce new Spider-Slayers so he can get out from under Spider-Man's thumb. Otto (as Peter) tricks Flash into undergoing a new procedure to regain his mobility, but its real purpose is to separate him from the Venom symbiote. Things go wrong, and the symbiote bonds with Otto.
