Steve and Nick's unit is deployed, but their plane crashes on Themyscira, killing all on board except for Steve who is badly injured.

It is decided to hold a tournament to determine an Amazon champion to accompany Steve back to man's world to face this threat. Diana wins the tournament and will accompany Steve back to the outside world.

Barbara Ann discovers that "Sear" is an anagram from "Ares", the true leader behind the attacks.
