Pirates track him as he struggles homeward guided by Devil and Hero, but at last he falls into quicksand. He has almost given up when the Bandar arrive to rescue him, led by Hero. Dr. Axel treats the Phantom's eyes, eventually with success. Jungle Patrol rounds up the pirates, and the story becomes a legend.
