When Sammy and Wuff hear that a scientist is coming to look at their prairie they are very excited and go looking for him. Charlie Coyote overhears them and dresses up like a scientist to catch them. He is so intent on dressing up that he accidently knocks over a can of red paint which he walks through and gets all over his legs. Charlie tricks them with his disguise and is about to capture them when the real scientist shows up and tries to catch him because he is the first coyote he had ever seen with red legs.
