Robin is disheartened by Batman's belief that most criminals are irredeemable. He convinces Batman to try to help Mr. Freeze find a cure for his wife Nora. Batman sets him up with a lab. In the past, Victor and Nora have disagreements on how he spends his time. In the present, Victor gets frustrated and trashes the lab, returning to his old ways, and the truth is revealed: he denied Nora the end she wanted. Batman and Robin take him down. But in return for his help, Victor gives Dick a gift: new freeze technology to help the world.
