- Rick and Morty vs. Cthulhu Part I: The Whisperer in the Dorkness · 22 pages
Scanning the Smith house for signs of The Sucrose Squad, Rick instead finds an infestation of "Mythos Molecules" from the Lovecraft Dimension and assembles the family for a mission to slay Cthulhu, the dimension's elder god. Armed with a blunderbuss-styled weapon that sucks-in Lovecraftian horrors and grinds them to "Cthulian Corpse Dust", he dispatches the alien "Color Out of Space" and, with Summer's help, the ghoulish Wilbur Whateley. After sending Beth and Jerry home, and obliterating The Dunwich Horror, Rick, Morty, and Summer move on to Innsmouth... where things go sideways.
- Eldritch Endpapers I · 2 pages
A text feature overview of American author H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937) and three of his stories that are referenced in this issue, punctuated by artist Troy Little's design sketches for the Lovecraftian characters appearing in this story.
- Rick and Morty vs. Cthulhu Part II: Shut Your Innsmouth · 22 pages
In Innsmouth, Rick was forced by Barnabas Marsh to kill himself by blowing his head off. Morty and Summer are jailed in separate cells. Summer's cellmate is old drunken Zadok Allen who shows her how to reach The Dreamlands via meditation, while Morty is locked up with a mysterious comparably-aged girl named Cathy. Morty and Cathy are intended as virgin sacrifices to the god Dagon. Seeking the obvious way out of their mutual peril fails as Morty is dragged away for the sacrifice before they could "become ineligible". Dagon instead kills Barnabas and adopts Morty as his "...new favorite son".

- Rick and Morty vs. Cthulhu Part III: Yith We Can · 22 pages
Seconds before Rick was forced to blow his head off in Issue #2, his mind and consciousness was transferred across dimensions and placed in the body of a Yith, hideous looking scholarly archivists from the story "The Shadow Out of Time" (1936). Having none of this, Yith-Rick and his newfound friend Yith-Huey plan their escape by releasing The Cosmic Terror from The Forbidden Chamber and escaping in the chaos by using forbidden technology. Yith-Huey, with whom Yith-Rick had an Yith-like romance, was killed by the creature. At home, Rick clones back his body and finds Beth possessed by Cthulhu.

Morty is adopted by Father Dagon, living the best family situation he has ever known. Summer becomes the champion of Nyarlathotep. The two siblings do proxy combat for their respective gods. With Beth possessed by Cthulhu, Jerry devoured by the Hounds of Tindalos, and Morty and Summer each fallen in their mutual mortal combat, Rick has finally had enough of Cthulhu's invasion of his reality and takes the fight directly to Lovecraft's ultimate elder god. An unexpected result reveals the reason for Cthulhu's dimensional incursion and offers not one but TWO epilogues in support of the revelation.
