Stories

  • Groo: The Prophecy Chapter 1 · 20 pages

After sinking four boats (only four?), Groo and Rufferto arrive at a land where the populace is terrified over a doom prediction made by the prophet Sybilia. Groo slays an attacking monster, routs an invading army... and, rather than his usually being the *cause* of great panic and destruction, becomes the hero of the villagers. However, neither the monster, nor the invading army, were the doom-bringers that Sybilia prophesized, and the "true and horrifying doom" still lies ahead. Is Groo up to the challenge... or could HE himself BE the challenge?

  • Egg Error · 1 pages

Rufferto proudly performs his good deed for the day by returning two fallen eggs to a high tree nest. Unfortunately, they were alligator eggs... much to the chagrin of the two newly hatched babies, now up a tree, and their puzzled mama.

Publisher’s description

Groo and Rufferto travel far over the land and across an ocean to get away from those who fear Groo and his infamous bad luck. Our hungry pair of adventurers seems to be running toward catastrophe, though! The priestess Sybilia has visions of terror after terror arriving to her village — with only Groo also arriving to seemingly save her townspeople! Sergio Aragonés and Mark Evanier deliver another wild Groo ride, with Eisner Award-winning lettering by Stan Sakai and exquisite colors by Carrie Strachan!
