Stories

  • Nutcracker (Not So) Sweet · 10 pages

Tom bakes a very delicate cake, that could fall with the slightest jarring, while Jerry and Tuffy become determined to noisily crack a large number of walnuts they've just harvested.

  • Who Watches the (Night) Watchman? · 10 pages

Tom gets a job as a toy store night watchman catching mice at a dollar a mouse. A one-gross carton of toy dancing mice, a mess of live ones, and Jerry and Tuffy's antics complicate matters.

  • Bone of Contention · 8 pages

Droopy, while looking for a place to bury his bone, is chosen as the mascot for a ship headed for a tropical island in search of Bluebeard's buried treasure. Droopy hides his bone in various places around the ship, causing no end of consternation for the ship's captain.

  • From Little Sprouts, Big Trees (and Headaches) Grow · 8 pages

To please Tyke and restore his faith in the miracles of nature, Spike uproots a nearby tree and transplants it in their yard where the pup had previously planted a tree sprout. All goes well until two squirrels and a bluebird who lived in the tree show up and move back into their old homes - followed by a mischievous kitten.

  • The Frog Pond Adventure · 6 pages

Jerry and Tuffy camp around a backyard pond as a substitute for visiting a swanky lakeside resort. A shifty frog fraudulently charges them all sorts of resort fees for use of the free public pond.

  • The Seven League Boots · Two Mouse Musketeers · 6 pages

When the King takes off his heavy crown, the cause of his headaches, M'sieur Poosycat schemes to steal it.

  • Summer Blues · The Downhearted Duckling · 8 pages

Little Quacker has a bad case of the "cry-cups" (like hiccups, but with crying), leading to Jerry getting an equally bad case of the hiccups. They both seek a bad scare to shock them out of their respective conditions and turn to Tom for a good, scary chase. But Tom's feeling too lazy to chase anyone, so the mouse and duck force the issue, to Tom's great suspicion and fright.

  • Myrtle the Turtle · 6 pages

Myrtle, a turtle who thinks she's ugly, asks Tom to paint pretty pictures on her shell.
