In Damascus during 731 AD, Abdul Alhazred receives voices and visions and writes the book Al Azif. The book contains information that should never have been recorded so Abdul is cast into The Dreamlands. When he wakes up he finds that he is imprisoned for writing Al Azif. His tongue is pulled out and then he is killed. A powerful demon takes his body. In the present day, Connor is helping a being search a swamp. Connor is directed to jump in. He does and pulls out Abdul's body, which is resurrected by the being. Abdul has been returned so that he can pen a new chapter for the Al Azif.
