A police officer with a reputation for breaking the rules is hurt badly when he doesn't wait for backup. Months later, while suicidal, he is attacked by the Bloodlines aliens, and is changed such that he transforms into a super-strong beast who changes color based on his mood. This brings him into conflict with the Last Son of Krypton, who doubts his motives. But together they battle the aliens. Lex Luthor and Supergirl observe.
