Stories

  • From a Cub to a Wolf · 54 pages

Jimmy looks for more information on the flying man he saw while Superman was fighting Atlas. The trail leads him to Andrew Stone, who gives Jimmy a folder on Codename: Assassin. After fleeing Codename: Assassin, Jimmy learns from the folder the history of Jonathan Drew and his powers, leading Jimmy to Cadmus and Dubbilex who tells Jimmy to find the Guardian's clone in a place called Warpath. Jimmy goes there and questions sheriff Greg Sanders before reuniting with James Harper and meeting his daughter Gwendoline.

  • The Worst Night of His Life · 22 pages

Jimmy Olsen has tracked down his old friend Jim Harper. Harper tells Jimmy how he found an alien (Tellus) being held by Cadmus, how he saw the original Jim Harper being killed, and how he found another cloning facility. The last one held clones of Paul Kirk and himself, and Harper was so disgusted that he destroyed them all. As a clone, he wonders if he even qualifies as a man; but Jimmy assures him that he is a good man. After Jimmy leaves, Harper remembers that he didn't kill all the clones; he rescued one small female clone (Gwendoline). He decides to go back to Metropolis.

  • New Krypton · 40 pages

Everyone attends Jonathan Kent's funeral. Clark daydreams about beating Brainiac to a pulp, but is reminded by Lois to just never forget his father. A general and Codename: Assassin have Brainiac, and are running tests on him, trying to extract information. Superman goes to the newly-enlarged Kandor and meets with his uncle and aunt, Supergirl's parents. Lois pays her respects to her father at his grave, and meets up with Lucy there. Luthor is in his prison cell designing a rocket, when the general appears, recruiting Luthor. The general is revealed as Sam Lane, Lois and Lucy's father.

  • Strange Meetings and Chance Encounters · 22 pages

The Kryptonians from Kandor are the big news story. Superman is on his way to Kandor when he is confronted by members of the Justice Society of America and Wonder Woman about the Kryptonians' presence on Earth, but he assures them everything will work out. Superman then meets up with the Kryptonians and Supergirl in Kandor, and leads a delegation of them to Metropolis to meet the President of the United States. The President jokes that Supergirl's parents owe him a new plane, but their meeting is interrupted by a fireball crashing. Emerging from it was Doomsday.

  • Beyond Doomsday · 22 pages

Former soldiers of General Zod roam Earth and wonder why Superman stopped him. General Lane gives Luthor the task of extracting information from Brainiac, but makes it clear who is in charge. Doomsday continues his assault on Superman, but this time he has help from Supergirl, her parents, and the other Kryptonians from Kandor. They push the fight to the moon, where the Kandorians dogpile on Doomsday and beat him to death, with Superman and Supergirl looking on. Zod's soldiers go to the Fortress and decide to release Zod from the Phantom Zone, but are stopped by Nightwing and Flamebird.
