Stories

  • Combat Medic! · 8 pages

As medics tend to a wounded soldier, the Captain tells everybody that the division is pulling out, but the medics want to stay where they are. As they continue to treat the wounded man, the four soldiers bugging out are shot and killed by a Chinese machine gun, but the medics make it to an ROK Army unit on foot and save the British soldier's life, or so they thought.

  • Light Brigade! · 7 pages

The British Cavalry finds itself in a horseshoe-shaped bear trap of Russian artillery in the Valley of Balaclava, and the British Light Brigade, ordered to advance, does so, right into the thick of it, losing hundreds of men and the battle.

  • The Tyrant · 1 pages

Young sheepherder Mark Edelblut is watching his father's flock while his trained hawk circles overhead, looking for any predators, and a wolf is soon spotted and disposed of. However, other wildlife in the area seem to be fleeing in panic, and young Edelblut soon discovers why: a large body of men, owing their loyalty to Baron Von Wolfe, are marching on Castle Edelblut. Using his wits, Mark uses his trained hawk to attack the Baron, severely wounding him and forcing a retreat, thus saving the castle from capture.

  • The Wreckers · 1 pages

A storm breaks out, causing heavy winds whipping up sand from Barnegat Beach along the Atlantic Coast, and causing Eben annoyance, were it not for his trusty whale-oil lantern to guide him to his hut and his precious daughter, Alicia. The American Revolution was still on-going and her lover has disappeared, possibly into the hands of the enemy. Slyly, Eben used his lantern to guide a British vessel onto the rocks and its destruction. The next morning, Alicia and Eben searched the wreckage for needed supplies. Alicia spotted a body of a man washed up on the beach: her missing sailor.

  • Air Burst! · 6 pages

The Americans have the Chinese on the run, but two of the enemy's remaining mortar crew have a surprise for the advancing Americans: a booby trap. Unfortunately, the wrong people walk into that trap.

  • Bomb Run! · 7 pages

An American bomber, "The Odyssey," has made a successful bombing run over a Filipino island when Japanese Zeros fill the sky and attack. While several Zeros are shot down, the bomber suffers a hit left engine, and they radio for help. They receive a message with landing instructions not knowing the message is a fake from a Japanese radio station with devastating results!
