Rift has achieved godhood, and Hazard and Alva are trying to think of a way to take control of him so they can loot two worlds. They recruit an oblivious Hardware and Steel to help them control Rift's powers under the guise of saving the universe. But, Hardware plans to simply kill Rift to end the threat. Steel catches him at the attempt and they battle until Steel finally convinces Hardware that there must be a more humane way.
