Rick undergoes trial for allegedly murdering Prime Universe, with Morty as his defense attorney. The first witness testimony is shared by all jurors via “electro-telepathic VR memory-replay goggles” that allow everyone to simultaneously experience the testimony exactly as the witness remembers it. While everyone’s brains, including Rick, Morty, and the judge, are connected by the device, Rick seizes the opportunity to escape and hide by “jumping his consciousness” into one of the other connected brains.
